Look, I am not a computer genius--I don't know how hacker programs work. All I know is that our webmaster has software that tracks all kinds of data regarding our web traffic, and he's shown me the graphs/stats that show whether the majority of votes came from a large number of sources or a small number of sources. If there are almost as many "unique visitors" for a user as the number of votes, that means the votes came from different computers. That's good enough for me.

When we didn't base the choice on online votes, we had complaints that the choices were too arbitrary, that if we weren't going to take the votes into account then why should people even bother getting votes? so now we made the votes a bigger factor in the choice, and we get more complaints. No matter how we structure the contest/website, there will always be people bitching that it isn't run right or isn't fair, and there will always be haters leaving negative comments.

"We started resetting the votes each month so that more girls would have a chance to be seen. If you didn't make the Top 20 this month, just try again next month. This contest is supposed to be fun way to meet fellow stoner girls and maybe get your picture in the magazine and win a trip to the Cannabis Cup. Its not a matter of life or death! SO CHILL OUT!!

How about if we make a new rule that any contestant who complains about the voting procedure is automatically disqualified. Is that what you want?"

When i signed up two years ago the rules fully stated that they did not want professional modeling pix put up on the site. Just real girl smoken real budz. And taking awesome pictures. And if you get to the top ten, well cool you were the first to be seen!! Meaning you get noticed faster..obviously this is true. I think Bobby and the MHT crew look at everyone's pages and pictures and decided which they like best. personally i think that's a good idea. hey GreenGoddess wasn't in the top 10 that i remember and she is rocking Miss November!!! All the negativity that is going around on MissHightimes is rubbing off on everyone. Hate is on everyones pages. People have asked to be able to edit their comments for awhile now, & still no change. & The cheating is outragoues. Ever since somebody wrote this on everyones pages..

Vote numbers have just magically gone up. & what this person is saying that once you vote on yourself, you can delete your history/cookies/cache and keep re-voting yourself over & over. (If you have such precious time to waste to do so.) This DOES work & is VERY unfair.
10 points x 5 pictures = 50 points.
score- 30,000 / 50 = 600 votes.
score- 40,000 / 50 = 800 votes.
score- 50,000 / 50 = 1,000 votes. & so on...
So your telling me these girls are promoting themselves THAT much & have THAT many friends voting for them since the reset? Nobody had that many votes to begin with before the site decided to reset them. Also, There is a program called "IP Mask" that changes your IP address. Its used to DEFEAT hackers but people use it to tick sites that use IP address logs. I think HighTimes should accept applications to be a winner/contestant for MHT of the Month/Year. Instead of being based on votes. Hightimes should choose the winners themselves & get to know them before doing so. Im reading comments saying that some of these girls are just aspiring models and not really stoners. Don't you & your readers want a "real" stoner girl? Instead of a phony?
I'm sure all of this is driving HighTimes just as insane having to hear about everyone bitch & moan. But it's obvious things need to be overlooked more.

Because we already chose her as a possible finalist before it was reset. When you make a magazine, you have to work way in advance. For example: our October issue just went on sale last week. Well that issue was printed in July, which means we started working on it in June. That's four months before the public actually sees it. Whoever we wanted to be Miss Oct had to be chosen back then. Right now we're finishing up our December issue, so whoever we choose this month will probably end up being our miss January. Get it? I know it seems weird, but that's just how publishing works.

in my opinion i think its all about the pictures!! nice crisp clean pix! you can't win using a phone camera i'll tell you that right now. the pix are published in the mag!! they need good ass pics to put in the mag or it makes the mag. look like crap! the reason why i say this is beacause i'm in the printing business and crappy pix will not work!! the winner for this months pix are awesome! crisp, clean, and clear (congrats). and of course she added weed into the pictures. so bust out that bad ass camera get creative and make some sick ass POT PICTUREs! think outside the box become a artist. remember crisp clrean and clear!
