Legalize It Already

I believe Marijuana should be legalized for many reasons. I am a single Mother with no health insurance and was diagnosed with Chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 16. I also have anemia so the medication I use to take for my arthritis would counter act with my anemia meds. I was 16 taking at least 9 different medications a day. Back then it was not such a big deal because I was under my parents insurance and obviously not having to pay for all the expenses myself. Now with this withering economy, paying bills and my daughters tuition by myself I am unable to afford health insurance.  My pain sometimes is so intense I cry. I try to pick up my 4 year old daughter and my elbow locks. My knees kill me after working out or playing soccer.  The only thing I find that takes my pain away long enough for me to enjoy playing with my kid and staying active is my precious Marijuana.

It does not make me silly or unstable nor does it effect my judgment. I function even better on it than I do when I don't smoke.

My second reason for wanting it legalized is the loss of jobs in this country. We are in harsh times and things seem to be getting worse. Sure our gas prices are down but that doesn't solve our energy crisis. Legalizing Marijuana would provide more jobs for the struggling Americans that are losing their jobs left and right. Also Hemp Oil would be a much better alternative to oil. Initially Henry Ford and Robert Diesel were going to use Hemp Oil to fuel our vehicles but oil seemed much cheaper back then. We could stop using ethanol and save our crops for food, helping for produce prices to go down. Hemp also grows faster so we could produce more of it. Hemp is just the sister plant for Marijuana, it's THC levels are too low to get a buzz anyway.

Police could also focus on putting away sexual predators, harsh drug users, murders and other douche bags instead of harmless pot heads. Take the woman that was murdered in Jacksonville FL earlier last year on Mother's Day. She was arrested for possessing a small amount of Marijuana and police used her to catch her suppliers. Mothers day 2008 she was murdered by the men the police were after. Her Mother left heartbroken and her daughter left Motherless.

Generations before us used what Earth provided for us. The Chinese used it for medicine and Cannabis leaves for food and fiber. Scythians cultivated cannabis and used it to weave fine hemp cloth. Our American Government in the 17th century encouraged the use of Hemp for food, clothing and for creating rope and sails.

After the Mexican Revolution of 1910, Mexican immigrants flooded into the U.S., introducing to American culture the recreational use of marijuana.

The drug became associated with the immigrants, and the fear and prejudice about the Spanish speaking newcomers became associated with marijuana. Anti-drug campaigners warned against the encroaching Marijuana Menace, and terrible crimes were attributed to marijuana and the Mexicans who used it.

If you read on the history of Marijuana you will realize that is was banned over hearsay. Harry J. Anslinger was the first Drug Commissioner and he made Marijuana seem like it was a plague.  There were no scientific facts to prove it wasn't good.

We might be hurting our planet by stripping it from it's oil. For all we know that oil could be there as a natural lubricant to help our Earths core and protect it.

I am pleased to see that some states have made things happen in regards to decriminalization and hopefully we will see more of it. People need to do their research on this helpful plant and then form their opinion on it. Hey, at least it's not as bad as alcohol, crack and cancer sticks. =)

Legalize it already.

Practice Peace.
