I'm a huge obama fan.

so two years ago, when I found out that a half black man was running for president, to be honest, I was a little skepitical of the idea. and since in 08 I turned 18, it was my first year to vote, and actually have 'a say' in who's our president. After 8 years of bush, 8 years of war, terrorism, and the start of a recession, we definitely needed something NEW.
Barack obama brought something new. An african american democrat, 49 years old. running for office. But he was so young, and you hear so many bad things about him. but he instantly caught my attention, especially when I saw the other candidates. Something about this mans friendly face, and laid back attitude really got me interested in politics.
So I did research, found out what he's got to offer, and how he's going to help our country out. So here's what I found out, He's from Hawaii. His father is Barack Sr. from kenya, and his mother, Stanley from kansas. He's very cultured, having lived in hawaii, Indonesia, and parts of the states. he's had quite the experience as a kid. And where most people going through what he did at such a young age, would easily turn to drugs and a dead end job, it did the opposite to him. He's got the best job in the country. He earned the presedency. Took himself to school, got involved, HELPED.
So I read both his books. Very wonderful books, i must say. Dreams from my father, is upstairs on my bookshelf, and easily one of my favorite books. I watched cnn everyday, and followed the campaign. I went to see him at the key arena feb of 08 and I've never felt more inspired. Barack obama the family man, had absolutely swooned me. I talked people into voting. I stood up to my republican grandparents. I debated with people why he would make a good president.
And now it's a year after the election, he's been in office 12 months. and I'm proud of him. He's got guts this man. And he doesn't take shit from other parties of the gov't. no matter who you may be. I was just watching cnn and republicans were bombarding him with if I must say dumb questions. where he simply just kind of told them what was up. when they lie, he calls them out. when they make up rumors, he corrects them. he'll shoot down their ideas, simply because his is better.
The one thing I am not so happy about though, is that one year later, we're still on the topic of healthcare, and that still is our man priority.
Shouldn't we be worried about jobs, and getting money to flow more steadily through our economy? Shouldn't we want to help out single moms with two kids with her bills, and get people out of debt? Getting homeless parents out of the streets, and kids into warm homes. The education system is shit nowadays. we should be focused on getting kids evolved. in sports, in music, actually attending school.
Healthcare, if it was our main priority a year ago, should have been dealt with by now. We shouldn't still be lollygagging over it. we should do something. if it costs money, well snaps dude! money is printed! we need money to get out of a recession, to open jobs, to make schools better, to make it possible for everyone to have healthcare, and that's not gonna happen over night.
Obama knows it's not. it doesn't happen overnight. give him 4 years, and if we are still in a rut, then I will take back my comments that barack obama is probably the 2nd or 3rd best president our country has ever seen, and we needed someone like him! you can't come into office after bush and expect everything to change after 100 days.
Did clinton change things in a year?

peace and love my friends.
