No dispensaries forcing patients to get the medicine off the streets, or drive to a different county to make sure they are getting quality medicine. We can't grow indoor or outdoor, giving patients 0 access to medical cannabis. Fresno is the 10th most populous county in CA and has a very high crime rate, so its time to start focusing on REAL crimes and legalize a REAL MEDICINE! Stop spending millions of dollars on busting these medical grow operations and start busting the thieves that run our streets! For the first time in 8 years Fresno is not in the lead for car theft, we have the 2nd highest car theft rating in CA! And they're worried about us non violent medical cannabis users? Somethings got to change, and i wont give up until we have won this fight! We are not criminals, LEGALIZE! <3 [ hide ]

♥MISS AUGUST 2013♥ I love everything about Cannabis: Smoking it, growing it, trimming it, making Cannabis oil, selling flowers, reading about cannabis... pretty much anything cannabis related intrigues me! I am Cali grown, and my roots wont ever be leaving this soil, I LOVE this state! I am very grateful for Prop 215, & have been a patient for the last 7 years. Cannabis HELPS people who suffer from medical conditions and even those who don't have any! I sometimes get what i like to call BITCHINESS hahaha! I interact with a ton of people daily and at times i get people that lack common sense and it can get very frustrating (and being as i don't have much patience as it is to begin with lol) smoking helps make me be able to still educate and interact with people without getting frustrated :) My aunt fought breast cancer and is almost a 5 year survivor \m/ she went from chemo to radiation and it was slowly eating her away. I've noticed a lot of side effects from the medication that they had her on to help with the arthritis and pain she felt throughout her whole body after treatment! That was when i decided to educate her on Cannabis oil (at the time i wasn't very open with my family about my smoking) seeing as she was smoking about a quarter if not more of flower a day! After teaching my aunt how to properly make oil and finding her an amazing oil rig and tools to medicate herself with, she no longer had been taking her pharmaceutical prescriptions for the pain! The cannabis oil had no side effects on her the way the pharmaceuticals did! The side effects she did feel were: a better appetite, weight gain (after losing a tremendous amount) restful sleep, happiness, and the most important NO PAIN!! I've literally watched my aunt take a single dab, & go from being in intense pain & unable to fully grip anything to almost making a full fist WITHOUT pain. The feeling i get being able to help others and educate them on how wonderful cannabis truly can be is an indescribable feeling, I love helping people be able to live a happier life and with less pain. I have been smoking for over 14 years now and for the last 10 years I've suffered from insomnia and many other things. Dr's say that for me the problem lies with the high amount of stress I deal with on a daily basis along with my anxiety. Some of the side effects that I deal with daily are: Poor ability to concentrate and focus, difficulty with memory, impaired motor coordination (being uncoordinated), irritability and impaired social interaction. Prior to using cannabis these conditions were unbearable for me, and I dreaded nights, mostly because I knew sleep would not come easily. I dislike alcohol!! I hate that alcohol is LEGAL and cannabis is ILLEGAL, it is INSANE to say the least!! I mean just some of the comparisons alone prove how horrible it truly is! For example: the dependence (how difficult it is for the user to quite, the relapse rate, the percentage of people who eventually become dependent), the withdrawal (presence and severity of characteristic withdrawal symptoms), the tolerance (how much of the substance is needed to satisfy increasing cravings for it, and the level of stable need that is eventually reached), and the intoxication (though not usually counted as a measure of addiction in itself, the level of intoxication is associated with addiction and increases the personal and social damage a substance may do) of alcohol is double+ the amount of cannabis!! The dependence of alcohol compared to cannabis is doubled! The withdrawal of alcohol compared to cannabis is Sextuple/Hextuple. The tolerance of alcohol compared to cannabis is triple the amount. and the intoxication of alcohol compared to cannabis is also doubled! And to think those are just SOME of the facts. I have never known cannabis to alter someone so much that he/she ends up physically/mentally abusing their loved ones! Just think about it, have you ever heard of a man/woman beating their wife/husband/child after smoking cannabis!!!??? I THINK NOT! Cannabis makes you happy, loving, creative, open minded, peaceful, and so... but NEVER angry or violent! I have dedicated over 5 years of my life in educating others of quality smokeware whether it be a pipe/bubbler/waterpipe/vaporizer etc etc.. I LOVE to educate others on all the wonders of cannabis and all the wonderful ways you can enjoy it! I'm just a regular down to earth stoner girl that loves to laugh and make others laugh! im random FOR SURE haha, i love cereal and anything sweet, even though i know it's not the best for me lol. I love Juicing and zumba ♥.... I think everyone should smoke cannabis, i have never heard of someone not being happy and loving afterwards :) Peace love and harmony is possible........... [ hide ]

High, I'm Dinelle. I'm Miss High Times May 2013 and last years First Runner-up which we started calling the VP. I'm a native Canadian artist and glass historian from Manitoba that resides in Las Vegas to pursue my love of ganja and glass. I recently just started my new small business, Yoganji. Check it out on Instagram. Throughout my years with High Times I've had the pleasure of going to several Cannabis Cups and meeting a lot of wonderful people, some of which were constants who I now call best friends. I wish you all the best of luck!! Oh and something else you should know about me, I apparently earned the title Since so many often ask how I got started, here's my story.. The May 2007 issue of High Times changed my life. I had to take a double take because Sarah, Miss High Times 2007 looked so much like my best friend that I started smoking weed with. She looked so happy and I thought to myself, that is the life and how do I get it? Seeing as I wasn't old enough to run at the time I continued reading and looking forward each months Miss High Times. So beautiful and so happy. I didn't think I had what it took as I was in an abusive relationship at the time that completely destroyed my self confidence. Being in the pages of High Times magazine was just so unimaginable at that point in my life. Eventually I graduated high school and left my abusive relationship in the past in hopes of a brighter future. I became and ring girl for cage fights, started modeling and started doing pageants, that I was amazed to actually win a few of. I was finally starting to feel like myself and that I could take on anything. I finally entered the MHT contest and the feedback I got from ladies was so warming and inviting. I just adore them to this day. I started dating a interesting man who had me assist him in his grow. Mostly I just cleaned the the grow rooms and trimmed. Bitch work, where everyone starts. It was a great experience though and I learned a lot. We wanted better strains and so we set out across Canada for about a year and half in search of them. We made it to Vancouver, where we were mushroom picking in a farm that things came to a crashing end between us. He decided to go back to Manitoba and left me in the streets of Vancouver with a suitcase and laundry basket of my clothes at 4 am. I knew absolutely no one and felt hopeless. I searched my brain and remembered that I chatted online with a MHT contestant who lived on Vancouver Island. It was a long shot but I messaged her and to my relief she was actually up. On top of that she helped me out! She wasn't in Vancouver but she knew some who was up and could help me out. So she called her friend who turned out to be a very kind lady from Marc Emery's vape lounge that I had met when I went there to smoke and drop off my résumé. She was the sweet ray of sunshine on the cloudiest of days. I couldn't be more thankful for her beautiful soul who let me into her home, smoked me out and took me for breakfast while helping me get on my feet. With the little money I had I bought myself an interview outfit so I can get myself and job as I only had enough to stay in a hostel for a week. Within day I was hired! Second day I found a room to rent out, things were looking up! However this was the first time I left home for so long (few months) and the holidays were right around the corner. I missed my family dearly and wasn't unsure of if I should return home of live out my life in Vancouver. It wasn't until Namelle, Miss High Times March 2011 had made a post about the Champs trade show and if anyone wanted to come out to do promo. As I was getting more into modeling this was something of interest to me, especially since it was for glass and in Las Vegas. Hell yeah, I was in. Only problem was I didn't have my passport, so back to Winnipeg I went to go get it and save up for Vegas. I worked at gas stations, hotels, landscaping, hotdog vending, you name it. It was finally time for my Las Vegas adventure that would change my life forever. One of the first people I met was my now boyfriend, who remained a very good friend of mine throughout my travels into America for several other events such as champs trade show, AGE, BIG, CK expo, Play well with Others, MJSW recession proof party, etc. along with meeting my current boyfriend I met Clazina who was currently Miss January 2011, Kelly who was later crowned Miss October 2012, Darah who was later crowned Miss June 2012, Corrin who later crowned Miss July 2012 & first runner up and several other wonderful beings. Finally came my first Cannabis Cup in downtown LA where the lovely Clazina Rose who was then crowned Miss High Times 2011 and her boyfriend, master glass blower Steve Bates picked me up from the airport. We arrived and the line up so big, it was around the block. I thought, damn it's going to take forever to get there but Clazina just smiled and waved as she walked passed wearing her beautiful green sesh. Here, take this she says as she hands me a Bates x Worm collab probably worth more than my whole trip. We walk in and I'm greeted by Kim Khronic, Miss August 2011 & second runner up and Kati Jane, Miss July 2010 & first runner up with giant hugs and smiles! I was overwhelmed by all the cannabis and how intensely happy everyone's vibes were. Sometime through out the cup I met senior editor and MHT contest creator Bobby Black and his lovely wife April. Along with Sarah Newton, Miss High Time 2007 my inspiration for running. She was even more beautiful and vibrant in real life then on the cover. It was an overwhelming experience. So many amazing people, copious amounts of cannabis, good music, and this new thing called dabs. I had my first dab a year previous to this cup so I was excited to try out Nikka T's solventless hash, which he personally dabbed me out with. I even made it into the 'Dab City' music video by a friend from MySpace while coughing my lungs out from a monster glob from the glob queen herself and GGS founder Kati Jane. Things were going great, that is until the person I agreed to get a room with decided they wanted to take someone back there and needed alone time. Me, not being a cock block chilled at the cup until it closed. At which point I was so faded I didn't remember how to get back to the hotel and wasn't getting a text back from my so called friend. My current boyfriend text me and asked to hang out, I was so happy he did. We had such a good time hanging our with our friend J Rock that I missed my flight back to Canada. I was kind of freaking out because at that time I was attending college and had a test that Monday but my good friend Kelly let me crash at her place and dropped me off at the airport next day. Made it in time for my test and passed with 98% The next Cannabis Cup was Denver's 2nd annual medical cannabis cup, just a week prior to my birthday. I was almost not gonna go because someone I didn't want to see had planned on attending but my good friend Corrin convinced me to go. I'm so happy I did too because we had a great time. Corrin and her friend Nick picked me up from the airport and greeted me with hugs. We hung out at the bar for bit because we were waiting for Deanna, Miss September 2011 and her husband. We of course greeted them with hugs and headed to the WarWick for a sesh. Denver, we made it! After getting our smoke on we hit the town to do some exploring but decided to end the night early to head back to Deanna and Jamie's room for some Super Nintendo! That's right, Deanna is a boss and bought her Nintendo. We gamed it all night and still managed to wake up pretty early. Perhaps the fact that it was 4/20 had something to do with it. We got ready and made our way over to Magnolia to meet up with Emily who was currently Miss March 2012. The first thing that came out of my mouth after meeting her was "god damn, you're tall." It was history after that. None of us had ever been to Denver so we were all pretty excited to go check out the civic center, and man were we overwhelmed. So many people, so much weed. It was paradise. We found a spot on the grass and started rolling up. Eventually it got so hot we had to make a trip to buy some bikini tops and ice creams. Somewhere in the crowd we found medicated ice cream and it was delicious. 4:20pm was drawing near and we made our way back to the civic center. Deanna has never dabbed before and we had dabs but no rig, so we looked around for someone dabbing which by the way was kind of hard as dabbing wasn't that big yet. Finally we found a couple dabbing by the name of Johnny and Dainelle if I remember correctly who let us use their rig. After giving Deanna a nice fat dab someone in the crowd stupidly yelled tear gas or something which created this stampede of stoners grabbing their weed and running. We didn't get a chance to properly thank the couple so of you're reading this, thanks. It was a magical 4/20 but it wasnt even over yet as we still had to check out Illuzions Glass Gallery for the Hitman Chess Piece book release. I heard a lot of great things about Illuzions but I never imagined it to be so big with so many well known artists. None of the Hitman chess pieces were out yet when we got there so April suggested we made our way to the back to smoke with friends and that we did. The Hitman crew was there and Steve Bates had his 'borch' going around. It was quite dabtastic! Eventually we all made our way in to check out the chess pieces and get a copy of the book. Truly one of the best concepts I've seen for a gallery. The party was a success and I was quite sure that that was the best 4/20 I had ever celebrated. San Francisco Cannabis Cup was next but I missed it due to my boyfriends father having heart surgery. Family is always prioritized first. After that thought is my favorite cup in Seattle! This story is probably one of my favorite as it was the first real time I actually hung out with Yvette who at the time was Miss November 2012. We didn't exactly hit it off but with all we went though I can actually say she is now one of my best friends. Our trip started with me flying to Sacramento where she picked me up and took me back to her place to smoke. We did a nug run for the trip and stocked up at the grocery store. The day of our departure a ballin' ass RV rolled up for us, all aboard! Seattle was our next stop! We were poppin bottles and dabbing our faces off the whole way! Our driver was getting a bit jealous of all the fun we were having that we had to stop at like 3am so he could sleep for an hour. We thought we were going to be late to work the booth so we had to keep going that night but it turns out we were a day early! While our driver slept the day off when we got there we headed out to explore Emerald City! One of my favorite things about Seattle was the water taxi that drove you across the bay to downtown. We found a great little place that rents bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. That night we rented bikes and cruised around the area. High Times was also having a party so of course we went to check it out. Somehow we got separated and I ended up passing out at the High Times house. So pardon me for looking like shit the first day of Seattle Cup. It was a crazy night. We met up at the booth in the morning with coffees but soon went for mimosas, made our rounds and said high to everyone. It was a smaller Cup but just as equally as fun. Theresa who was later crowned Miss March 2013 came out from Pittsburgh, so we met up with her for pizza and she joined us back at the RV for more dabs. The second day of the Cup we were up hella early and had lots of energy to burn so we rented paddle boards. It was our first time and was super exciting. We rolled up some joints and took some pictures before we headed out as we were scared to get the camera wet. Surprisingly I didn't fall in and we made it. Second day was crazy, twice as many people came out and even more hugs! LA Cannabis Cup 2013 or 'The Cup from Hell' as most of us MHT's refer to it. They changed the venue like 3 times and it was 2 hours away from the original location so car pooling was a little stressful but we made the best of it by having extra girl time in the car rolling blunts. Emily the reigning Miss High Times attended this one as well with a crazy broken arm which caused her to calm down on the dabs as it caused a painful swelling to her wrist. So of course I was on dab duty, soon as I saw the swelling go down I was dabbing her face off. At the time this was probably the biggest venue I had ever witnessed, so getting across the place was chaotic. Pretty much impossible to walk through without stopping a million times to say high and get high with friends. Emily on the other hand to turn down so many yummy flavors due to her injury, it sucked. The drive back to High Times was long enough for her swelling to go down so could have a heady girl sesh when we got there. I rode over with Yvette, Kati and her boyfriend Kyle. (They've been dating since me and Kati were online friends in 2009. You guys are too adorable!) Met up with Emily, Jera, and Theresa. Redman was there too and joined us for a blunt. The next day was his concert and you better believe we were kicking it back stage. The second night was kind of crazy and well that's a story you need to hear in person. After the LA Cup a good number of us MHT's went to Vegas for a week! To be continued... [ hide ]

As drug laws loosen up and more states adopt medical marijuana laws (and some have even legalized weed recreationally!), more parents are speaking up about smoking. For me, smoking pot is less about getting super silly high and listening to jambands and plowing through a bag or two of Cool Ranch Doritos, Instead, marijuana is my glass of wine at night. It’s my yoga and meditation practice. It’s the one thing in my day that allows me to quiet my brain for a bit, unplug from work, and plug into my family..I enjoy life and everything about it. I have always drempt of being in The High Times Magazine and would love to someday be featured in it.. til then... *let the good times roll* stay lifted [ hide ]

( 4 months) I believe with cannabis his life was prolonged, and because of that,I will fight to prove WE NEED CANNABIS! I started making YouTube videos in 2008. Just random smoking videos. Nothing special... After getting the feed back I received,( all positive, for the most) I decided to voice my opinions more and more, giving myself a 'don't give a fuck' reputation. Lol. I loved traveling to events around the US, mostly west coast, getting footage and pictures, meeting amazing people, smoking with legends! . Then the best thing ever happened, I became an official High times model! Miss oct 2012. I was blessed enough to attend the high times cups as a sister, apart of the family! It has been an amazing 2 years, the cannabis cups, the magazines, the photos and articles, the MHT gatherings, the doobie awards, and every award ceremony there was! I am a homegrown California girl and a firm advocate for the end of marijuana prohibition globally. For many years I felt guilty in certain situations, even was told I could not really love or understand Jesus since I smoke cannabis! This harmless plant needs to be legal so people can smoke in peace, without condemnation, judgement and ridicule. This plant is a gift from God and I am ever so grateful for it!

My names Yvonne Insalaco, n Im here to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed. :) I am a medical marijuana patient as well as a advocate/activist and well just down right lover of cannabis. Modeling is my job, marijuana is my career. My story is a long and crazy one but in a nutshell.. I am a cannabis activist model and promoter, as well as an alternative model. My number one priority is to change perspectives, to change the one track minds, to open minds. I dealt with a lot of abuse and on February 2nd I had my first seizure, after my good friend was kidnapped and murdered.. Doctors tried to load me up with thousands of milligrams of neurological medication ignoring my cry that my brain maybe just cant cope...With the sole treatment of cannabis and natural oils, I was able to get my seizures down from 20 a day to just one or two a day (still workin on it :P) by using and experimenting with different concentrates and strains. It has given me life again. The fact that it could potentially cure my epilepsy with CBD & THC and all the other ones suffering yet the laws in Alaska prevent us from doing so completely free completely drives my entire thought process on how sadly society has fallen. My mission is to make a change and tell my story. I knew little of epilepsy when I was diagnosed, and it hurts so many. I want people to know the help is HERE. Its been Here. I also am a SURVIVOR of Rape/PTSD (being open is number one right!) and plan to get my message out there to young girls to educate them on the mistakes that I have learned from, and to give people, society- a chance to really dive into and about the art and health of cannabis, and about living YOUR life healthy. If I can inspire one person, I'm on my way. A lot of my issues stemmed from family issues and assaults but a lot of the situations that hurt me the most, I put myself there by being intoxicated, etc. Its never your fault but you can learn from it, I am, and cannabis helps me, to help others, heal... In my off time ...I like to play nintendo or just smoke, eat food off my boobs and read or watch netflix. I usually end up researching my passions (modeling and cannabis culture and reform) and write songs or poetry, and blaze down. Im a concentrate kind of girl (will always love my kush though yaddadimean) and there definitely is a lack of experience for people here and I am usually the one people go to with questions because they know that I will answer them and be judgement free. That is important to me because many people abuse the plant and plant matter and can hurt themselves or others. Ive been through a lot and maryjane (and miss high times community) has just lifted me higher to a place where I can compete with no one but myself, and I am already blessed to be able to stand by and have these ladies in my life. Im feisty, Im small, Im weird and Im wild, but Im caring. The world needs more care. Cannabis needs more care. [ hide ]
