I would LOVE to represent High Times because it's HIGH time that we permanently erase the stigma put on pot smokers. One of the first, very public examples of how the government wanted to perceive stoners to the world was in 1936 when the movie "Reefer Madness" came out. These days we are bombarded with television and magazine adds showing that when you smoke weed Horrible things will happen: you'll forget to pickup your grandmother because you were getting high, you'll drive over children when leaving the drive-through of your favorite muchies stop, you'll get high n' shoot your head off with your fathers gun, you're dog will start talking to you and tell you that you smoking pot is ruining your relationship.. Why does the government feel the need to scare people away from smoking grass in such an insane and totally incorrect way while ignoring all the FACTS on marijuana? For all those people that believe that marijuana is a Drug how about we take a look at some facts...
This is a list of the annual deaths in the USA and their causes:

I am so passionate about the legalization of marijuana because of the trauma my family and I went through a few years ago when I was about 17. I have depression, PTSD and daily anxiety as a result of it. First, my father has had chronic pain for as long as I can remember. That, along with terrible anxiety, has kept him out of work for years. His alcoholism got worse when we found out my mother had Breast Cancer. She has always been the rock of my family. While undergoing the last part of her treatment she had a bad reaction which evenutally put her in a coma. All this was going on when my brother's drug addiction was becoming more obvious. After going in and out of detox and many suicide attempts later he Finally decided to get clean. Luckily, everyone is healthy now. However, once everyone got better I changed. I learned after going to many psychiatrists that when someone is forced to deal with such intense situations, at such a young age, once everything has gotten better it is then Your turn to break down. That's exactly what happened to me. I am the baby of my family and I had to be so strong for all of them. I had friends and family asking me daily what we'll do when my mother died. I was the only person bringing in money for my family. My only crutch, even at 17, was booze. When I'd drink things got worse. I thought of suicide almost daily. When I was put on medications I wasn't myself anymore. I do see how they've helped me over the years, but being dependent on a pill so I can sleep at night and another so I feel OK when I leave my house is not how I want to live the rest of my life. It's like being in an Rx prison. When I smoke ganja everything is put in perspective, everything feels better, I can feel the natural benefits immediately and I hope one day soon marijuana will be legalized and I won't have to take all these ridiculous medications anymore. If we don't make our government see that marijuana isn't the problem and the problem is blind ignorance then their so-called "war on drugs" will never end. Marijuana isn't just for "lazy hippies" it's for normal everyday people that would rather come home n' have a toke than have a few drinks, maybe fight with the family, or pop sleeping pills every night and unknowingly become dependent on them.
Even if I don't win I'll Never end the fight for our cause and I'd still love to be a part of High Times in anyway possible.
"Inhale for the future, exhale for the past...
To all the marijuana smokers across the nation
it's not an addiction it's a dedication
not a trendy mindless sensation
but inner thought and mind exploration." - TYPE4
if anyone is ever in the Boston area hit me up! I love meeting new stoner friends! ;D

Also, I positively, absolutely Have to give credit to Boston's Girls 4 Ganja and the one (and Only) KOP (King Of Pot) for help with some photos. Without them I never would've thought to run for Miss High Times. They continue to do so much good for the cause and the love n' respect they get nation/world wide definitely proves it.
~Peace, Love, Legalize~
